Up to now five genera and 12 species of Largidae, and 10 species of the single Neotropical genus of Pyrrhocoridae (Dysdercus) have been recorded from Argentina. We discuss diverse aspects about the knowledge of the superfamily, e.g. citogenetic, phylogenetic, and agroeconomic importance.
