Up to now there are 36 recorded species belonging to the families Corixidae, Notonectidae, Belostomatidae, Gelastocoridae, Naucoridae, and Nepidae (Nepomorpha); Hydrometridae, Veliidae, and Mesoveliidae (Gerromorpha), and Saldidae (Leptopodomorpha).
